FOUNDER
GRACE PARKER - @gracehazelparker
My name is Grace Parker and I'm the founder and CEO of IN/EXTERNAL LTD, the company behind FITVO.
I'm a NASM certified personal trainer, Yoga Alliance certified hatha yoga instructor and am currently working on my Precision Nutrition as well as my NASM corrective exercise and performance enhancement certifications.
I attended the University of Southern California in Los Angeles where I was accepted into the Div. I track & field team for heptathlon but before graduating I moved to Phoenix to train at ALTIS, formerly World Athletics Center.
My experience at ALTIS was invaluable as I was training alongside elite athletes, many of whom were Olympic medalists, and to say I learned a lot about performance training and nutrition is an understatement. However, following my time spent training in this elite environment I decided to focus on the more general aspects of health and fitness and this is where hatha yoga came in. The benefits of yoga are endless and hatha yoga in particular is a decidedly different style and pace of exercise when compared to performance training. While performance training focuses primarily on strength, speed and power, yoga focuses more on flexibility and balance as well as improving strength in far gentler ways that are much less likely to result in injury. In fact, the influences from these disparate disciplines has had an incredibly positive effect on my approach to my personal health and fitness as I've found that mixing these ancient and modern methods of training leads to incredible results.
